Marge and Rio

Marge Doolittle has post-polio syndrome. In 1993 she moved into Wellspring Retirement Community. By 2004 she had increased difficulty walking, even with crutches. She occasionally uses a wheelchair.

We worked Marge with 3 dogs before determining that Rio, a border collie mix, was the dog for her. Marge says Rio has  become the joy of her life. He picks up her crutches when dropped, plus the phone or anything else dropped.

Marge says Rio helps with her chores with such joy and happiness that it is contagious and extends to other people in her retirement community.
