New Recipient Stories
John Lockwood and Sunshine

Hi, my name is John Lockwood. I am 22 years old [in 2009] and live in Winston Salem NC. I have been dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder and depression most of my life.

I learned about a really cool program called New Life Mobility Assistance Dogs that takes rescue dogs and trains them to be service animals for people like me. I have been accepted into the program. Wow! Isn't that great! I'll get a dog trained to recognize the beginning signs of trouble for me. It will live with me, go with me to work, to the store, to Temple and to St. Anne's --- everywhere! It will help me stay safe. I'll have to take care of its needs, but hey, I love animals and that will be easy for me. Please help me by sending a donation to NLMAD. Thank You!

--- A dog named Sunshine has been selected for John. We felt he needed a little Sunshine in his life!
